Biography
Born in Durban and raised in Zimbabwe, Nick Price is one of the greatest golfers ever produced by Southern Africa.
He turned professional in 1977 and built a career defined by precision ball-striking and relentless competitiveness, winning three major championships – the PGA Championship in 1992 and 1994, and The Open Championship in 1994. In the mid-1990s he rose to world No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking, dominating the game with multiple PGA Tour and worldwide victories.
Price remained loyal to Southern African golf throughout his rise, compiling numerous Sunshine Tour wins and inspiring a generation of players from across the region.
Inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2003, he has since served as an international team captain in the Presidents Cup and a respected elder statesman of the game.
His journey from the Sunshine Tour to global No. 1 embodies exactly what the Sunshine Legends Tour wants young players – and sponsors – to believe is possible.
