European Legends Tour Player and host of the 2025 South African Senior Open
James Kingston, born 30th November 1965 in Ottosdal, South Africa, turned professional in 1988 and rose through the ranks across international tours.
He achieved success on the European Tour, securing wins at the South African Airways Open (2007) and the Mercedes-Benz Championship (2009). In Asia, he claimed four tournament victories, while on the Sunshine Tour he notched 10 wins and claimed the Sunshine Tour’s Order of Merit in 2007.
Kingston moved into senior competition and has since become a strong performer on the Legends Tour.
He has captured four Legends Tour titles: the Sergio Melpignano Senior Italian Open in 2021 and again in 2023, the Swiss Seniors Open in 2022, and most recently the OFX Irish Legends in 2025. He also won the Legends Tour Order of Merit in 2022.
Kingston is known for his accurate tee-to-green play and dramatic shot-making, including a famed hole-in-one at the 2002 Dunhill Championship that won him a car.
