Doug McGuigan crowned 2025 South African Senior Open champion at Plett Country Club
Plettenberg Bay Country Club played host to a memorable week of championship golf as Doug McGuigan claimed the 2025 South African Senior Open title on the Garden Route.
McGuigan set the tone with a strong opening 69, then made his move on day two with a superb 66 to surge to the top of the leaderboard.
From there, he held his nerve in the final round, signing for a closing 69 to finish on -12 (69, 66, 69) and secure his first South African Senior Open victory.
Staged at Plettenberg Bay Country Club from 10–12 December 2025, the tournament was hosted by James Kingston, a Legends Tour Global Ambassador and proud representative of the club.
Congratulations to Doug McGuigan on a standout win in Plett — and to everyone involved in bringing another flagship South African Senior Open to life at “The Hidden Gem” of the Garden Route.
